The Bachelor

Happy New Year! I took a small break over the holidays; 1- because it’s a super busy time of year, 2- I wanted to enjoy and focus on the true meaning of Christmas and 3- we were out of town, and had a WONDERUFL trip to Wisconsin and Nebraska. I <3 my family! (I’ll post pictures from our trip soon)

Anyways… I’m totally hooked on reading “celebrity” reality tv gossip and thought it’d be fun to do a little bachelor thoughts/recap/can you believe she did that? chat. Last night was the first episode of Sean’s season, so here we go…

Bachelor: Sean Lowe, super cute, Ken-like hunk (at least two girls called him a hunk to his face- really????) He seems to come from a great family and I LOVE that he’s open about his Christian faith… we’ll see how that plays into the fantasy suite.

The opening bit kept showing him working out and his hunky muscles, yeah he’s good looking, we get it. Then Arie (bachelor runner up on Emily’s season) and Sean had a little bro-love sesh. It was amusing, Arie gave Sean some pointers on how to kiss, which I remember always feeling grossed out watching Arie and Emily kiss, but whatevs.  They joked about how to deliver the line “Will you accept this rose?” and how to break up with one of the crazies ladies. funny stuff.

Then we meet the girls…

• That 50 shades girl……. too much, way too much
• Robert (who was just walking by, definitely NOT watching the show with me) thinks Tierra (the girl who got the rose right out of the limo) looks like a brunette Britney Spears
• I liked the bridal consultant
• There was a girl in a blue dress that reminded me of Nicki Minaj- bold make up and hair and every time she talked her southern belle “accent” sounded fake
• Kacey’s back! Oh I like this girl…. but this seems a little desperate??? I hate saying that, I really like her
• Girl in a wedding dress… funny idea, a little too much white wine, not working out so much
• Paige is also back, she was on Bachelor Pad and got the boot, and got the boot again, although her attitude seemed a little arrogant, she knows all things bachelor after all?? (that’s how she got on BP)
• A girl tried to do a back walkover/handspring…. and totally fell, why would you even attempt that in an evening dress???? Random side note: the stones always look so slick and wet outside at the mansion, I’m surprised Chris Harrison doesn’t slip and fall
• The yoga instructor with the wildly curly hair… my best friend in high school had hair that curly, It’s a tough thing
• The girl with one arm, I like her too… and her confessional, (does that date me, Real World anyone??) she so was open about wanting to be accepted and for people to look beyond her handicap? (I don’t know what the PC term would be) Anyways, I like her
• Selma, the BEAUTIFUL brunette with big eyes and a smoking body who rocked her LBD. (Ok so maybe I have a crush, but not in a weird way!)

Obviously I didn’t cover all of them, but those are the ones that stood out. I love bachelor season and am already campaigning for Kacey to be the bachelorette. (I have a feeling she and Sean don’t make it too far). Also… I’m not into spoilers for this season,  so if you read Reality Steve or any other bachelor spoiler site, please don’t share.

And lastly, a parting quote from last night:

“I mean, you’re beautiful, but that’s not the first impression rose, that’s just the first rose he gave out”
