Ask me what I want for my house right now, go ahead….. no, not that rug I’ve been searching three years for, no not those white kitchen cabinets and new counter tops (kind-of yes!), but MORE STORAGE!
I’ll admit that I’m not the cleanest girl, in a dusting and laundry type of way, BUT I am a neat girl. I DO NOT like clutter and things sitting around with out a home. Put everything away and out of sight, and while you’re at it, keep it neat and organized. (And this is TOTALLY just for my own house, I promise I’m not judging you!)
So I saw some inspiration from this post at Positively Splendid, and knew this was a project for me. Storage totes made out of diaper boxes- brilliant! I have plenty of things to store, I HAVE diaper boxes, and now I have a clean space above my washer and dryer!
Now to get hubby to build me another shelf above the washer and dryer and I’ll really have something to celebrate.
And don’t be surprised if you start to spot these in every room of my house. AND if you have empty diaper boxes, send them my way. (Or if you’re feeling generous send a new box of diapers- pampers size 3!)
Fun! fun! fun!

Sisterly Adventure
So my WONDERFUL sister, Little Miss Christy, was in town last week. We had such a fun time together and even got “away” for a little bit. Here’s some highlights….
Canvas and corkscrews, this has been on my to-do list for a long time. Especially painting the cherry blossom picture. I’m considering updating my guest room to be based on the colors and look of this painting. Could be PRETTY cute… and girly (can I get an AMEN?)
Next up: overnight getaway to Blackhawk (Wood girls ONLY)
I know it’s a little cliché, BUT we stayed at the nicest place up there AND it was far enough away, without being too far. Unfortunately, the rest and relaxation was so nice (that and I didn’t call for a late check out) that we were exhausted the next afternoon and came home a little early. Like when you finally get a good night’s sleep yet you’re tired the next day because you needed the sleep so much?? Does that happen to you? I hope so, otherwise I’ve gotta get that checked :) ANYWAYS, we were away for 22 hours… hoping to make it at least 24. I guess we’ll just have to try again… in vegas, or the beach, or at a spa or ….
We stayed at Ameristar and unfortunately, I did not remember my camera the first night to document our evening. (Isn’t there some rule about cameras in casinos anyways?) It wasn’t too eventful: checked out the hotel, people watched and walked around, drank some cocktails, gambled away $6 on penny slots, and enjoyed live music.
Here’s when I DID remember the camera!
the FABULOUSAli Baba Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa (Full House anyone?)
isn’t she a jet-setting beauty??
we left towels on the floor and didn’t make the beds, rebels I tell you! Oh yeah, and check out that case of Mike’s …
the pool was on the rooftop, when the weather’s nice the glass wall (doors) open to make it an indoor/outdoor pool. beautiful views.
thanks for a fun time sissy!

I hope everyone had a nice Easter last Sunday. We went to my in-laws house for brunch (and of course an egg hunt). We had a wonderful time. Here are some pictures of my dolls boys…

Giddy Up Y’all!
Since CHRISTMAS, Carter has been talking about having a “cowboy birthday” So that’s what we did to celebrate his third birthday. I wanted to go all out and have pony rides BUT… he’s only three. (Luckily I didn’t-the weather was cool and WINDY)
Here are some photos of the festivities
Hubby and I were up til midnight making these shirts for the boys, all the kids got one as a party favor (along with cowboy hats and bandanas too)
Happy 3rd Birthday Carter!!!
