My neighbor and I threw a little Valentines Day party for the kiddos.
the helium balloons we filled the night before did not make it- that’s ok, get creative right?
the “moms” table- like we actually sat down
yummy treats; the menu: breakfast bake, fruit, heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, heart shaped cinnamon rolls, punch, cookies and sweet chex mix.
the kids jumped on the trampoline and hit balloons with heart paddles
carter and his pals- isn’t it cute how he wrapped his arms around them???
is he not just the cutest???
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Roses are Red, even felt ones
I’m a little obsessed with wreaths right now, and decided a seasonal wreath shall become a permanent fixture on my front door- now if I can just find my over the door wreath hanger we’d be in real business. Anyways, I was originally looking to spruce up my Valentines Day décor with a wreath so I made this one, but I decided it was too delicate as an outdoor wreath.
So I made this….
And when I say I made this, it INCUDES the felt roses.
see???
GO ME!
I see a lot of felt roses in my future…

Winter Wonderland!
So it’s been snowing for days so we’ve been cuddled up inside.
some highlights of the blizzard…
some highlights of the blizzard…
- chicken tortilla soup… I had a double batch and we still ate it all over two days, find the recipe here
- I downloaded and started reading Ape House by Sara Gruen
- Ryne slept 3+ hours so Carter and I watched a movie(Carter)/napped(me- until the neighbor started snow blowing- annoying that they have a snow blower, yes; annoying that they were doing it while I was trying to nap, double yes)

Valentine, valentulle
So I was looking to be creative on Monday and add to my Valentines Day decor. I've always liked wreaths I see on pintrest and decided to DIY. Look what I came up with!
the best part..... It was all stuff I had at home (wire hanger and tulle).

subway art sign
Last fall on my blogland adventure I came across this subway sign by Shelley at the House of Smiths I loved the look, the idea, and the personalization. I was going to make one for my own home. I don't have one of those awesome cutting machines, but after doing some research I decided I could do my own version with a 24" x 36"canvas, black spray paint, and 8 1/2" x 11" label paper. I typed up and formatted my letters in publisher and then printed them, testing the layout and size. this took a few tries and almost an entire ink cartridge. (I used Arial font) Then I individually cut each letter out and stuck it on the canvas. The letters didn't adhere very well and kept peeling up so once I had a line/address done, I paper clipped them together until I could place all the letters on the sign at once. The hubby also insisted I use his square straight edge to get a clean line, I was so tired of meticulous details that I made him draw the lines, so glad I didn't skip this step (I was inclined to) Then once all the letters were placed I flipped the sucker over and really gave it some pressure to try and make those darn letters stick. so I used the old trick of putting books and magazines on top of it :) I let it sit over night and quickly spray painted it the next day finally finished I'm loving it. I think home decor is so much cooler when it's personal.
I'm Baaa-aaccckkk!
